Reference Letter on Request

After 3 months of consistent volunteering, our Director will write a detailed personal reference letter upon request — naming specific contributions and skills observed.

I started volunteering here as a final-year psychology student who had never worked with children with disabilities before. After three months, I had my first job offer — partly because of the reference letter from SpectrumSprouts. But more than that, I understood what I wanted to do with my life. These children taught me more about patience, empathy, and creativity than any textbook.

A Morning at SpectrumSprouts

Here's what a typical volunteering session looks like for a therapy support volunteer. Every session is guided, never left to figure it out alone.

9:00 AM

Arrive & Briefing

Check in with the duty therapist. Review the day's session plan — which children you'll support, what goals they're working on, and any notes from the previous session.

9:15 AM

Prepare Materials

Set up the therapy room — flashcards, sensory tools, activity sheets. Small details matter: the right setup means the child spends their session learning, not waiting.

9:30 AM

Session 1 — Assist & Observe

Shadow or assist the therapist in a 1-on-1 or small group session. Your role: engage the child, hold materials, model activities, and keep energy positive. The therapist leads; you support.

10:30 AM

Break & Debrief

Tea break with the team. Your therapist gives you quick feedback and answers questions. This is where most of the learning happens — informal, real, and specific.

10:45 AM

Session 2 — Take More Initiative

As you grow comfortable, you'll take on more: leading a portion of a sensory activity, running flashcard drills, or managing a play group with light therapist supervision.

12:00 PM

Wind Down & Sign Off

Help tidy the therapy room, update your volunteer log, and check your next session date. Many volunteers say the walk home is when it hits them — what they just did mattered.

What They Say

★★★★★

I've volunteered at many NGOs but this felt different. The children remember you, they progress, and you can see it. Our therapists are incredibly welcoming and I've learned more here in 6 weeks than I expected in 6 months.

As a working professional who wanted to give back, the flexible schedule was key. I volunteer on Saturday mornings and it's become the best part of my week. The certificate also helped me in a recent promotion discussion — I work in HR and they loved it.

I came as a graphic design student to help with their social media. Three months later I'm also sitting in sessions with children with autism. This place changes you. I can't imagine my week without it now.

Everything You Need to Know

No. The only requirements are compassion, reliability, and a genuine interest in helping children. We provide full training on your first day and our therapists supervise and guide you throughout. We have volunteers from backgrounds as varied as engineering, finance, and homemaking.
The minimum is 2 hours per week for remote/digital roles and 3–4 hours per week for centre-based roles. Consistency matters more than quantity — a reliable 3 hours every Saturday is more valuable than 10 hours one month and nothing the next. We're flexible and work around your schedule.
Yes. We're in Vaishali, Ghaziabad — approximately 5 minutes from Vaishali Metro Station (Blue Line, Delhi Metro). Volunteers from Noida, Mayur Vihar, Laxmi Nagar, and east Delhi commute regularly. For remote roles (digital, fundraising, awareness), location is no barrier at all.
Experience certificates are issued after a minimum of 1 month of consistent volunteering (at least 4 sessions). They are signed by our Director and mention the specific role, hours contributed, and key activities. Reference letters (for longer-term volunteers of 3+ months) are issued on request.
Yes. We regularly host students from psychology, social work, education, and healthcare programmes for internship placements. We can provide the documentation your college requires. Contact us with your internship requirements and we'll confirm whether we can fulfil them before you apply.
Yes. Because we work with vulnerable children, all volunteers complete a brief screening call, provide a government ID, and sign our volunteer code of conduct and safeguarding policy. This protects the children and the volunteers. The process takes about a week from application to first session.
